(Before 11. W. Northcroft, Esq , Warden.) Amongst the cases dealt with were the following :—: — J A. James, Silver Star, Whanganiatn. Granted. W, Y. Ralph, Mariposa, Waitekauri, There was an objection by the owners of the Eclipse claim, on the grounds on encroachment, but the matter was adjourned until the 20th September for the production of the necessary p tins. J. MeDermott, Sydney, Mnrototo. Granted. Mr Lush asked that the license should be issued in the name of G. P. Quayle, of Christchurch, which was also granted W. J.Scott, Silver Piince, Mnrototo. R. T. Douglas, Silver Leaf, Marototo. Granted in two holdings. J. Neal, Saxon, Waitekauii. Adjourned 20th September. G. Callwell, Aladdin, Marototo. Adjourned 6th September. L. Melhouse, Silver Quesn, Marototo. Adjourned 6th September. F. C. Dean, The Chiaies, Marototo. Mr Stewart for the applicant, Avho asked to be awarded surplus ground in the Australian Peer. Granted. "R.8.. McGregor, the Globe, Marototo. Mr McLaren appeared for the applicant, and asked that although the plan was before the Court, the license should not be granted for a week. The applicant's principal had arrived in Auckland, and it was desired to know whether he would take up the ground. In the event of his not doing so, it might then be given up, and the applicant would thus bo saved the payment of £15 for the rent. The Warden said that the holding was marked out in May last, and originally contained 82 acres, so that there were 52 acres of surplus ground. He would grant the license, and let the applicant pay the rent. W. Y. Ralph, Wairarapa, W»itekauri. Adjourned 20th September. W. Birch, Komata. Adjourned September Gth. W. Littlejohn, Standard, Karangahake. Granted. A. Porter applied for three months' protection for the Crown, Karangahake. He explained that it had been floated into a company in Glasgow with a working capital of £25,000, and it was believed that the plant and machinery would be on the ground by November next. Seven holdings were to be included in this company, viz. : Crown, Monastery, Sutro, Abbey, Sunny Corner, Scotia, and Priory, and it was now desired to obtain protection for them. It was intended to surrender these claims, and obtain them in one holding. The Warden granted three months' protection as desired. J. H. Smith, Emperor and Exchange, Marototo, Mr McLaren, for the applicant, asked that three months' protection should be granted for these holdings, to work with two men on each. He stated that a good deal of trenching had been done, but no reefs had been yet unearthed. The application was granted. / G. P. Quayle, wator-race and machine •tte at Marototo.
