Messis Gladstone, iMorley, Parnell, and other moiiibeis opposed the nomination of Sir J. Day to a seat on the Commission, on the ground that he was prejudiced. Upon Air Chamberlain rising to speak, Mr T. P. O'Connor exclaimed " Judas," upon which theie was a scene. Mr O'Connor aftei wauls apologised. Mr Parnell threatened to expose Mr Chamberlain's secret intrigues bcfoie the Commission. Mr Chamberlain asserted that hits colleagues were aware of hia negotiations with Mr Parnell. and Mr Gladstone partially confiimed hit* statement. The "clotuie" was applied sevei.il times in the course oi tho debate, which was finally adjourned, amid uproai, at 3 a.m.
