Thanhs July 25. Saxon.— The fortnightly cleaning-up book place yesterday for the return ol 2100/ lotortcd gold, from 286 loads ot quail/. The drive at No. 5 level is penetrating an excellent channel oi sandstone, and good headway is being made by the contractors. Uolouts of gold are frequently observed in the quart/ coming to hand from the various stopes. Pkixcis Lmpekjal. — There are 20 load.s of quartz in the hoppers, and crushing will be started in a few days. New Alburnja. — Crushing is proceeding, and is shaping fairly. Tk Mata. — Excellent headway is being made with the erection of the battery. GiLii. — The mine manager's report is of a very .satisfactory riatme. Up to the 21&t inst. 55 f/onsf /ons of quarU have been taken, 40 tons of which have been crushed for a yield of 182oz amalgam, and he ib still crushing equally good quaitz. The mine continues to look well, and the quality of the ore coming to hand is quite up to anything hither ro obtained. Pakoqukt. — The mine manager reports progrehs for the month as having been forty-four feet on No. 1 level, but work has been stopped there and confined to No. 3 level. The batteiy is working smoothly, and ia> ciushing 6cm quartz. Six tons of Paroquet tailings have been treated for 9oz. 7dwt. of melted gold. Saxon. — The mine manager in his report states that tho low level has been advanced 13 feet, and the junction of the Wo lodes is now in hand. The reef is much larger at the junction than at any other place. Good pi ogress has been made with various stopes, and coloms of gold are continually seen in all of them. Ton loads of general dirt were cru&hed for 2loozs letorted gold. Nkw Albuknia. — The mine manager reports that during the past week the quartz broken out was showing gold freely. About fiiteon loads of quartz and 301b picked stone are now being put through the battery. Jobe and party have obtained lOoz 13dwt from 17 loads and 601b picked stone, the Company's percentage being £32 19s 3d. Irwin and party are crushing 16 loads and 901b picked stone, and Henderson and party 7 loads and 701b picked stone, all of whom will be finished crushing by Thursday.
