WORKMEN'S WAGES.
WELLINGTON, Last Night. (Sir George Giey has received a tele gram from Mr J. C, Firth trusting he will strongly oppose Mr Withy's attempt to reduce workman's wages. Tie says if Withy succeeds: tlio flower of the working population will leave for Australia, and that if the two Houses and the Civil Service were reduced to one half the present nuinher, a real and beneficial retrenchment would be secured.
