OHINEMURI. (From Our Own Correspondent.)

The ordinary monthly mooting of tlio Oliinemnri School Committeo, was hold on Saturday last, at the Secretary's office, Paeroa. Present — Messrs Lipsey (chairman), Shaw, Robson, Tetley, Farmer, and Edwards (secretary). The minutes of the last meeting being duly read and confirmed, the Secretary read a telegram from Dr. Haensler, from Auckland, asking two days leave of absence. Granted. On the motion of Messrs "Robson and Edwards it was resolved to request the Board of E lucation to grant Miss Akers nn increase of salary, she now holding the position and fulfilling the duties of assistant teacher, and only drawing salary of pupil teacher. The balance in Secretary's hands irom the lecture " Tough Yarns " was ordered to be placed to the School fund account. It was originally intended that this money should be expended for other purposes than cleaning, firing, etc,, but as the capitation grant is quite inadequate to liquidate the ordinary debt°, thi? money had to be thus sacrificed. Tho Secretary was instructed to write to the Board of Education again requesting that the £6 raised by the Owharoa people for a School library be subsidised at the usual rate viz., £, for £ by the Board. Tho fallowing accounts were they passed : Lockwood, (cleaning), 18s ; McConochie, ( cleaning ), 22s ; Cummings, (fuel), 24s ; Dodd, (fuel), 20s ; "Dodd, (clonnins;), 17s. The Committee then adjourned. On the arrival of the scow, Moehan, on Thursday last she discharged about 40 tons coal, &c, on to the Paeroa whatf. In the mininsf matters there is nothing worthy of record beyond the fact of Mr Walker striking a fair class of ore in the Rnscmont drive. The machine house at Waihi is nearing completion, and generally matters at tho mine are looking most satisfactory.
