APPOINTMENT OF GOVENOR. WELLINGTON, Last Night.
The Govonoi lias received no word yet as to whether ho is be reappointcd to this Colony for another term ; but expects io be sont to Cape Colony, vice Sir Hercules Tvoluncon. Should he bo again appointed to New Zealand he will ask for six month's leave of absence, as ho wishes to make i short vim home. Lord Knutsford has written out expressing his dUappvovol of the Bill passed last session reducing" the Governors salary, and giving it as his opinion that the result must be the appointment of. an inferior man. It is said that fiir Win, Jervois, since coming 1 here, has had to trench on his private income, owing to Iminq: to entertain so many "globe trotters;" and in other ways spend more th n he leceives in salary from the Colony.
