BREACH OF PROMISE.
Dum'uiv, July 11. A c.vsl ot bieach of promise, in which £500 damages were claimed, was held at the Supreme Court to-day, Sarah Ferguson, of Nabuljy, spinster, suing John D.iw&on, 010 1 the same place, baker and grocer. The parties had been engaged for about four yeais. Dawson then besran to pay attention to a Miss Donaldson, with whom he stated he had beecne entangled, and for the plaintifl it \\a« contended that he induced her to write and release him from his engagement to her, sn as to be able to show Miss Donaldson, and enable him to lice himself from her, and many Miss Ferguson. For the defence it was contended that the engagement was broken ofl voluntarily by the plaintiil. At the conclusion of the e\idence the jury daid that they considered the ulaintiiFhad not proved her ease, but at the request of the Judge they listened to Sii P.. Stout for the plaintiff, and then they found for the defendant.
