DOMAIN BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting oF the Te Aroha Hot Springs Domain Board wn^ held on Saturday evening last at the Boards Office. Present : Messrs Gavin, (chair), Ilotfc, and Ahier. Before proceeding with ordinary business, Messrs Pavitt and Mills, as a deputation from the Te Avoha Public Library Committee, interviewed the Board. Mr Pavitt, who acted as spokesman, said : They had been deputed by the Library Committee to wait on tho Board and ask them to assist the Committee by putting 1 up a building for them, and let the library be held in the "Domain, The expenses connected with running thc'library were very heavy, and now that the Government subsidy to public libraries had been discontinued, the Committee did not see how they were going to keep the library open unless they received some assistance, or could in some way lessen present expenses. The speaker also expressed the opinion that the fact of the library beiug situated in the Domain would be an attraction to visitors, etc. The Chairman having promised that tho request of the deputation would receive the careful consideration of the Board the deputation then withdrew, and ordinary business was proceeded with. Minutes of the previous monthly meeting were read and confirmed, Tbe receipts for the previous month were stated to be £29. With respect to the levelling and laying down a further portion of the Domain as an extension of the present tennis court, which work was decided upon and left in the hands of tho chairman to have carried out some time back; the chairman stated that Mr Crump, Engineer, had been so busy that ho had not been able to spare the time to take
