A Years Railway Accidents.
A uim'Rv has been published of accidents and casualties as reported to the Board of Trade by the several railway companies in (he United Kingdom for last year. There w i-o 33 persons killed, and 647 injured, as. against 12 killed and 696 injured in 1886. There were 31 collisions between passenger trains, by which 25 persons were killed and 214 pabscngci & and 14 servants were injured, 42 collisions, between passenger trains and goods and mineral trains, by which one servant was killed and 6 cattle-driveis and 24 servants were injured. Two cases are mentioned of trains coming in contact with projections, 58 cases of trains leaving the line, 2 cases of trains travelling in the wrong direction, 23 eases of trains running into stations or sidings at too high a speed, and 116 instances of trains running over cattle or other obstructions.
