WAITOA ROAD BOARD.
Thb usual monthly meeting of the Board took place last Saturday. Present : Messrs W. P. Chepmell (chairman), H. Burnett, J. Horrell, and J. Turnbull. There was a good deal of routine business, the most important item for the ratepayers of the district to hear in these hard times being the decision come to as to what the rate for the current year is to be. As the Boards debt under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act has been converted into a loan under the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act there will be a saving of over £100 per annum, which coupled wifch a credit balance in the Bank decided the Board nem. con. to make the rate a farthing in the pound which will yield abont £3GS. Accounts amounting to £43 5s 10il were passed for payment.
