Mr Wyllies total score for New Zealand So far is 3,748 wins, seven losses, and 192. drawn games, in all making 3,947 games, played. Mr Wyllie is meeting with a splendid reception in North Canterbury. He has aheady played in Kaiapoi, Rangiora, Cusfe and Oxford, and, so far, the score is all wins to the redoubtable champion. He has so far played 882 games in Canterbury, of which he has won 848, lost 2, and drawn 32. A Canterbury boy succeeded in "drawing " a game with the redoubtable " Herd Laddie." The " Leeds Mercury " paid a great compliment to New Zealand players by confining itself entirely in the issues of March 17 and 24 to the games played with Wyllie, by Messrs James Dickson and JamesChristie, Portobello ; J. Williams,' Riccarton ; E. Harrison, Waihola ; J. M. Hutton,. Ravensbourne ; and Lachlan Shaw, J.pJ Bell, and George Foreman, Dunedin. Ins the two issues there were ten games altogether, and a problem from an end game between Messrs Wyllie and Bell. The fifth annual contest at draughts between the Aberdeen city and Countyplayers took place on March 16 , in St>, Catherine's, Hall,' Cafe Building, Shiprow, Aberdeen, It was the biggest gathering of draughts votaries ever ( held in the North of Scotland., the players numbering no less than 106—53 a side. The first match was played on the 26th April, 1884, when only eigkfc' county representatives came forward, the result being: City, 21 wins; county, 8 wins • drawn, 41. This year the county players won, but by a less majority than last year, the score being : County. 124 ; city, 100 ; drawn, 75.
