He will watch the weather in winter, and if the winter proves unusually severe, will increase the protection. If severe drought endues he will do all it is possible to do to counteract its eii'ect^, eithe» - by stirring the soil frequently, or by mulching. If his trees, plants, v ines or fruits are suffering from disease, he will study its nature, learn and apply the remedies.
