A USEFUL HAND-CART.
A strong and easy-running hand-cart would often be a great convenience on a farm, A small boy can manage a load in a hand-call which he could do nothing with mi wheelbarrow, because the latter entails lifting the weight as well as moving it. The cut represents a hand-cart easily made, and one that will answer every ordinary purpose. The wheels may be obtained from any old agricultural implement, such as an Amerium " sulky " cultivator, that is past work. A couple of old plough wheels if of the same si/c would do. The axle could b« of wood, choosing, of course, the hardest and toughed b timber procurable.

If you have a wooden axle the body may rest directly upon it, being rirml) secured thevcto by light bolts, or strong screws. If an iron a.\le be u^ed, a j>ieee of timber should be nailed across the bottom to which to fasten the axie. Something to act as a leg to allow the cart to stand level must be added in any way thought mo-^t convenient. The handles can simply be nailed Hrmly to the .-ide-v The Ipg *hould be short enough to allow the cart when standing still to tilt a little forward.
