SUPPOSED DROWNING CASE.
Auckland, .June 18. A mw named Ueorge Shored cje, master of the ii>hin^ stnask liene, has reported to the police that one of his crew, named John Winn, Ims been mis-sing 1 since Friday, the 15th instant. Winn is a colonial, ajred 22 years. He vas last seen by another fi-heunan named Austin btanding neai the Waitemata Hotel, Queenstreet. He wa& then very drunk, and it is to be feared that while in that state he lias- gone down the wharf, fallen o\er, and been drowned. Whin's mother is a widow, who resides at the North Shore. She wa.s visited yesterday, when she stated that she had not seen her son since last Friday.
