ENTERTAINMENT AT WAIORONGOMAI.
Thtc Thames Snowflake MiiWivk, who have boon giving a scries of their popular concerts in the districts of Ohinemuri and Te Arnha lately, gave an entertainment at Waiorongomai on Saturday evening last which was a decided success in every way. The singing of the Company was on the whole very creditable indeed, and the encores received merited ; while some of the members deserve sppcial mention for the ablo manner in which they acqnitted themselvps. The singing of Messrs Hardman, Cnsley, J. Wells, and Thos. Wells ; the acting of Messrs Woodward and J* Wells as corner men, and of Mr T, Wells as interlocutor was really good, and the whole entertainment passed off without a. hitch, to the credit of the manager, Mr F. Hunter, who. with his sister accompanied the singers on piano and cornet. The following is a copy of the programme :—: — Part i. 1 Overture by the Company ; song. "When the "Birds and Blossoms Dream." Mr J. Hardman ; song, " Will you be my Holly Hock," Mr J. Wells ; song, " See thai; my Grave's kept Green," Mr W. Johnstone ; song, " Mother's Grave," ;Mr McCormick ; song, (comic), " The Dude/ Mr Woodward, (encored); sons', " My Southern Sunny Cross," Mr jJ. Casley. (Here the stage was cleared to enable a few members of the Thames i Columbia Skating Rink to perform, and they kept the audienceinroarsof laughter for about ten minutes by the attitude, they placed themselves in, after which an interval of five minutes took place.) Part ii. Overture, Company ; duet, " Tho Pilot Brave, " Messrs Hardman and Casley, (encored) ; song, (comic), Mr Woodward ; song, " Stars of the Midnight," Mr S. McCormick ; song, (comic) " I Should Like to," Mr R Hastings, (encored) ; motto song, Mr J. Hardnvw, (encored) ; comic speciality, Mr J. Welte. This piece fairly brought down the house, and received a well-merited encore. Song, " I'll think of my Mother at Home," Mr Casley, (encored) ; song and dance, Mr Wordworth, (encored). The entertainment concluded with a side-splitting farce entitled " A Terrible Hour," which the audience roundly applauded from beginning to end ; tho whole winding up with a dance, the music being supplied by Mr Hunter, corn°t ; and Miss Hnnter, Piano ; while Mr Henry Mace acted as M C. in his usual efficient manner.
