NEWCASTLE, June 15. Forty Chinese passengers on the Sliangshai, now at Newcastle, waited on the captain armed with knives and tomahawks, and insisted on payment of LlO ahead, which had been advanced on account of poll tax before they left China. The money was paid. THE CONFERENCE. SYDNEY, Juno 15. Tasmania dissents from decision of the conference on the Chinese question, and the objections were wired to Knutsford ; all other colonies are satisfied except Western Australia, which, being a Orown Colony, has not expressed an opinion.
