J Hi', ui there was a warm interchange of compliments between Sir Cleorgc CJvcy and Sir .John Hall dining the debate lasi evening, when strangers were excluded from the galleries. Bir Ueorgo angrily denounced the Chairman ol the .Reporting Debates Committee, and charged Sir John wilh being- in league with him to suppress information of great value to tl)e public, lie emphatically said it was in keeping with his conduct in leadinir his telegram in 1880. The other Knight lived up, and docLucd the statements wore absolutely incorrect, and Drey's conduct a pieco of impertinence. Other members warmed up in a trice, but hands were well kept, and no shadow even of disorder despite the warm iecling. Tho end was that tho debate is not to bo reported in
[fan sard as declared by a majority of cloven. Sir George declared lie would publish it himself to which the other Kniyht rejoined thab lie felt sure the no\v,spapci\s in New Zealand were of too hij^h a cluu actor to publish any report his honourable iriend mi(fhl sond them on this matter.
