The repair ol the gap at Ching chow is iinpo&sible. Jt cannot be completed by the spring. The water has lisen in Wciaze and Chung-10, and the water in the city is novcial feet deep. There is great consternation in the city, as in the third moon the water always vises considerably, and the distress of the inhabitants will bo great. Mr Muirhead has sent the following note to the " North China Daily News " of Watch 27th :— " The news received yesterday iioni the inundated districts in IJonan eoniinnh previous letteis as to the fas oui able condition of the people tor the pit-sent. At Cheng- Yang Kwan, an imjjortant mart at the southern bend of New Yollow river,
