PUNT AT MURPHY'S LANDING.
(To The EruTon)Bin, — jn your paper of the 2Gth iust. appeal s a letter signed " 11. J, Hawkins," which would lead nny person reading 1 it to believe that I have made use of my position as member of the Piako County Council to fence and drain my land. 1 bog to state, for the ratepnyeis information, that such is not the case ; for neither have the Piako County Council, or the Waitoa lload Board, ever spent one single shilling of the ratepnyeis money in either fencing or draining my land, and any ratepayer can easily prove the truth of this statement by writing to Mr Tuck, Clerk, Piako County Councd , Cambridge ; or, to Mr A. Bremner, clerk of the Waitoa Eoad Board, Morrinsville ; for I am quite suro both these gentlemen will be only too glad to supply any ratepayer with all information ; I only write this for the ratepayers information, as 1 altogether refuse to have anything to say to " li. J. Hawkins," whose statements referred to in the above issue are entirely incorrect. — I am, &c, D. Murphy. May 28th, 1888.
