FIRE AT DUNEDIN.
Dunkdjx, Maa 21, A fiili? took place in Gregg and Co.'s codec and spice works, Ramsay -street, on Saturday evening. The damage was contincd to the intorioi, the loss being estimated at between £400 and £500. The fire originated near the Chicory Mill, but the cause is a mystery. Mr Don, the foreman, locked upab2.3oinU\eaftcinoonwhcnaU\vas ! right. The insurances arc: Equitable, C 2,450, 450 Cl,Boo reinsured on the stock and machinery ; South British, £1,000 on the stock. The Standard oflice had a risk divided over different parts of the building, and £200 on the stock in the "back part, to which the damage was strictly confined, and £775 on building and £300 on the stock in the front premises which were not even singed. The total risk by this company being reinsured with the Union to the extent of one-third.
