Witnesses huriicd down, to iind Mrs Tillic Hipp, aged 35, and her .■-on George, aged 12, suffering from injiuies sustained by their descent through the air fiom a iourth -storey window. A policeman called an ambulance, and the mother and son were sent to the Harlem Hospital. Mr.s Sipp's spine is injuied, so that she cannot lis'e, and her face and body lia\o many brui.scs. (JeoiGfC ban no bioken bones, and the hospital .surgeons believe tho lad has a chance to recover. It is feared, however, that ho may have sustained intenvd injuries. John Sipp, tho hu.sband of the unfortunate woman, is a baker. lie \va« at work when hip wife and child were hurt. Mrk Hipp rallied ab the hospital and said : ' 1 had trouble and was tired of life. My son was saucy to mo and I made up my t mind that we should both die, so I threw him out of the window and jumped out myself.' It it supposed that she is insane. The Hipps ha\c another child, 3 years of a#e, who was found crying at the head of the stairway after tho mothei's terrible act. j\lr» Hipp weighs about 140 pounds. The son is a plump, strong lad. She took him from his bed without any explanation, and alter a desperate struggle forced him out of the window. Mrs Sipp recently had an attack of lemittent fever, which the liohpital physician believes may liavo caused mental derangement.
