SYIWEVT, May 18th. The House of Ueiresentatives sat all niijht, ami passed a Chinese Restriction Bill. It is as yet mknown what action ihe Government wM take with the detained Chinamen in view of the decision of the (Supreme Coirt as to habeas corpus, but from remarks made by Mr Garrett in course of the debate last ni^hfc, it is inferred that the resouices of the Government on the matter have not boen exhausted. The Council by 80 to IS lefused to mi^pend the standing; ordtMN to en.ible this J'.ill to be (Incussi'd and there is likely to be much opposition to the measure in that Chamber.
