The file occuued in a lour -loomed collage owned and occupied by Mi James Donaldson, cabinetmaker. Previous to the luo Mr Donaldson \va^ in hK buck yaid with his wife and children, and Mr .J times Young ha\ing called Mr Donaldson left the premises with him. They had not none far when they woe alarmed by Mrs Donaldson calling "Fiie," and on returning they found the hou.se in flames. xNIPs Donaldson, who had entered the kitchen after her husband left., found the woodwork sin rounding the chimney on fiie, it evidently having been set alight by shingles falling fiom the firoplacc. -'Lho fire speedily spread and destroyed both building and contents with the exception of about (J2O worth of furniture. An adjoining- house occupied by Alow Whisker, and owned by Mr Council, solicitor, was slightly damaged. Donaldson's house was insured tor CJ9O in the J loyal, but his fuinituie and took were uninsured. Whinker't hou'-e wai injured for j;isoin the National.
