The Assessment Court, in connection with the tint Valuation' Roll for To A roh a Town Distrct, ' (Mossrs G. Wilson ami F. I'livi trainers appointed by Judge of As<3ssment Court, previous valuations haing boon objected to ?'u toto by the Boad), was opened on Wednesday last. Only two objectionshad been lodged, viz. : — one by G. Ebct, who, although twice called, did not jppear. Valuation sustained. The secoid objection wns laid by C, Ahier on tie grounds thnt he was not the oceupie 1 of the property with reference to whici the objection was made, having sold it to Mrs Margaret Galllagher about a mnith ago, who was now the occupier. Objection allowed ami necessary alteraton made. Mr Wilson askel His Worship to allow himself and Xr Pavitt expenses for having to attend the Court that day ; and also expenses for preparation of the Roll. Mr Warden Stratford had fixed the fee for making the valuation at £7 7s, but he thougit they should in addition be allowed expenses as asked for. AKo that they might be paid their money without delay. Afterwaids Mr j Wilson said he woud forego any expenses on his own Account, but would certainly ask that Mr Pavitt be allowed some compensation for the loss I of his time in attending the Court, as he was n, professional nun. His Woiship : I should say all prospective expenses were included in the sum allowed for making the valuation.
