INTERESTING CASE IN WELLINGTON. W ellington, April 23.
MATRIMONIAL AGENCY.
Ax interesting cabeari&ing out of a contract alleged to have been entered into by a patron of a matrimonial agent of this city bids fair to develop in the Court at an early date. The facts as at present divulged appear to be these : Some time bince a maiden, matrimonially inclined, deposited the .sum of £1 Is with a certain matrimonial agent in business in Wellington, the agreement being that the latter should secure for the lady an introduction to various male clients who might be considered eligible with a view to matrimony. In the event of marriage resulting, the iair client promised the match-making medium a further sum ot £3 19s, making in all £5. In due course a gentleman was found and an introduction accomplished. It was apparently a case of " love at first sij^hfc," but after it was all over, the fair client, having had her cup of happiness "filled to the brim," in her fulness of heart apparently quite forgot her original agreement with the agent, who now purposes trying his claim before a court of law.
