PROFESSOR THOMAS AND THE RABBIT PEST. Wellington, April 5.
I'jioi-'KssoK Thomas of Auckland, who has spent hi& Easter holidays in making inquiries iti the Wairarapa with regard to a disease which has appealed among the rabbits in that district, left for Auckland by the Waihora thits evening 1 , taking with him several of the diseased, animals as well a .•> some stouts and fei rots, hi- object being to conduct cettain experiment? with them when he roaches home. Professor Thomas has ascertained that the disease is what is known as the bladder worm, and liv believes that it can be propagated among 1 the rabbits in other parts of the colony. Peath is slow but sine. Proiessor Thomas will make a preliminary repovt to tho (lovernment next week.
