Mr Hatch's schooner Awama was lyinti borne miles below town, waiting a .slant to bail for Macquaiie Island. On Monday afternoon Harry Lmlson, seaman, and Andrew Scott, the cook, took the schooner's boat to go to Sandy Point toi water. They lei t the .shin's boat there, and taking anothei, came up to town, whcio they were sivn in sc\eial hotels during the evening. They weic on boaid a-\es-elai the jelly after 'midnight, and were under the influence of liquor. Shortly after they left to £0 to the boat, and ha\e not been .scon fcincc. This atternoon a fisherman coming np Ihe ri\er saw a boat at- lu»hWiitcr'inaik on tho eastern shore >\iththo mast broken. 'L'ho weather on Tuesday morning was extremely stoimy. Ludson, better known as Hairy ISeilson, wasn Norwegian, 38 years ; Scott was 21, and wa> a son ot John Scott, upholbteror, T.iy-stieot, who had t!ie misfortune to lose another .son by a gun accident a few years ago.
