T uavk the authority of fcho Minister of Lands for stating that after a good deal of negotiation the ' Government and the representatives in New Zealand of the Midland Railway Company have decided upon tho blocks of land which are to be given to the Company from time to time as the work of construction No objection is now apprehended , by the Government to the new contract, and Minister? expect to hear very soon from the Apentllcnoval that tho. directors have sigiiod it.
