HUMOROUS.
A Pious Wish.— A chief of the Utah Indians on his deathbed recently requested his brother to kill, at his burial, one Pi-ede woman, to stranglo two Pi-ede girls, bury alive one Pi-ede boy, and kill sixty horses and six sheep as a sacrifice, that he might pass in peac^to the happy hunting grounds of the Indian. Two men in crossing a field came in contact with a donkey, which was making 1 "daylight hideous" with his unearthly braying. Jemmy stood a moment in astonishment. Turning to Pat, who seemed enraptured with the, song, he remarked, u It's a tine long ear 1 that bird hasfor music, but he's got a wonderful cowltf.*
