Sale of Forfeited Licensed Holdings: ; With respect to the following licensed holdings : Werihiko, No. 2 ; Three Fools ; Empire ; Golden Gate ; Virginia City ; and Provincial Amalgamated ; declared forfeited, more applications than one having been received in each case, For the right to occupy the ground so forfeited. The Warden fixed Tuesday, April 10th, as the clay on which he would sell, at twelve o'clock, noon, the right to occupy the forfeited claims mentioned to the highest bidder. Applications for Licensed Holdings : Application No. 2, by Geo. E. Ireland for licensed holding of five acres at Tui, known as the Riversdale. No objections. Granted. Applications No. 1, by 11. McLivcr and T. Gavin, for licensed hoi ling, Silver Kins:, an i No. 3, for licensed holding, The Ruby, both situated at Waiorongomai were both adjourned to April 24th, the survey not having been completed in either case. Clnrkcs Drain ! A letter from Mrs Margaret Ann Clarke, addressed to the Warden was read at the previous sitting of the Warden's Court, requesting that water be turned into the creek (formerly connected with what is now so well known as Clnrkcs drain) ; and the Warden requested the Mining Inspector to inspect and report on the matter. Tho mining Inspector reported having carried out the instructions received, and stated that all the water available was, in his opinion tunning down the creek referred to, and he did not think that tho Warden could grant anything further in the matter. This was all the Warden's Court business.
