I havk the authority of the Commissioners for stating that the Agent-General is to mnko a selection of what he considers th 6 most suitable candidates for the post of Chief Commissioners of New Zealand Railways and forward the names and testimonials out to the Government at ouce.. The assistant commissioners arc not to be appointed until the Chief has been selected, and up to the present time tho Cabinet have not considex*ed the names of any candidate for one of these two offices.
