Piako County Council meet at To Arolm to-morrow afternoon, Wo welcome the Council on this tlio occasion of their holding their monthly meeting at Te Arohafor the first time. Tbo Council have ahvayp acted in a moat liberal manner to this goldfield, and even shown a disposition to assist to their utmost tho devclopemcnt of our mineral resources ; and will, wo aro confident, not bo found wanting, when eiicumstances warrant the carrying out of any special work in connection therewith in the future. Tenders are invited for chaining at Shaftcsbiuy. Mr George E. Ireland has applied for a licensed holding at Tui Creek, To Aroha, There will be scrvico in St. Marks Church, To Arohs, this evening at 7 o'clock. The quarterly meeting of Tq Aroha Licensing Committee was held on Saturday last. Present : Messrs F. Lipsey, (chair), W. Pibsell, J. Ileathcote, and E. Gallagher. Mis Annie Thompson applied for a transfer of publicans license, fiom the Family Hotel, Rolleston Stiect, Te Aroha, to a building known as Park House, Whilaker Street, Te Aroha. The application was refused, tho reason assigned being that the adjoining premises aro already licensed. Tho tender of Mr J. McCauley, K;»ti kati, has been accepted for carting firewood fixm Walmsley's bush to the Waihi mine, at 3s 4d per ton. Mr H. W. Northcrof t, IUI. and Warden for Hauraki District on and after Tuesday 13tU inst. Messrs Alf. Buckland and Co. will hold a live stock sale at Waitoa yauls on Friday next. See advt.
