MINING NEWS.
The heavy rain throughout Thursday night will be welcome to both farmer and minor. The Waiorongomai battery, at which operations have been almost at a standstill for some time past, through short supply of water, wag again enabled to resume operations. There is nothing of special interest to chronicle from either AVaiorongomai or Waitoa.
VALUABLE DLSCOVEKY AT TUI. Some new reefs, rich in argentiferous quartz have t^een discovered in the Runkakft licensed holding which adjoins the Champion Lode claims. The discovery promises to prove a most valuable one, and has already lead (o tiie taking up of a considerable area of ground in the vicinity.
