SHAFTESBURY
Ox Tuesday the 31st wit., a successful concert was given at the schoolroom in aid of the church fund of the district. The chair was taken by the Kcv. James Marshall ; and in spite ol the unseasonable weather there was a good attendance, upwards of £5 being loalised. Not the least noteworthy feature of the entertainment was tho violin-playing of M aster liai old King, aged eight years, son of the Rev. T. F. King ot iSt John' College. The progiammo was as follows : Pait I. O\ ci ture, "Pirates of Tendance," Miss M. E. Cox; vocal duet, "Hark! the Goat-Bells Hinging," Mrs Wright and Miss S. Marshall; violin duet, " Melodic," (Geng) Mr E. 0. Meyscy - Thompson, and Master Harold King ; song, " The Exciseman," Dr Wright ; recitation, "The Welsh King," (BulwerLyfctoii), Mr E. llaytcr Cox ; song, Miss C. Baker; violin solo, "Fantasia," (Dancla)j Master Harold King ; song, " Queen of the Karih," Mr E. Uuytor Cox; pianoforte solo, Mrs Wright ; song, " The Blind Girl to Her Harp," Miss M. E. Cox.
