Takapuna Races. Auckland, January 31st.
The first day's racing in connection with the Takapuna, Jockey Club's Summer Meeting on Saturday passed off without a hitch of any kind, but the attendance was not large, despite the attraction held out in the way of cheap steamboat fare and admission to the course.
