A DISAPPOINTED LOVER SHOOTS HIMSELF.
A disappointed lover, named Harry Simpson, who recently returned from Broken Hill, Adelaide, attempted to commit suicide lately in one of the main streets of the cityHe had been keeping company with an attractive little dispenser of tea and coffee at a restaurant in Rundle-etreet, and while seeking his fortunes In Broken Hill, it appears that he received no letters from her, and on getting back to town he accused her of forgetting' him for another. She pleaded she had written to' him;-buthe rushed wildly out of the shop into a side street, and fired a six-shooter four of five times at himself. The firsb few shoti missed, but at last he winged himself in the arm and fell to the ground; shrieking, "She shall never have him." The wound is not dangerous, and 'now his inamorata threatens to " cut " Kirn.
