Suicide of a Young Lady.
A magisterial inquiry was held atSey-' mour, Victoria, into the circumstances attending the death of Miss Elworthy, a young lady the daughter of Mr El worthy, of Port Melbourne. Mies Elworthy had been spending her holidays at Beechworth, | and was returning to Melbourne' on Friday, j when she broke the journey at Seymour. She stayed at Perron's hotel. During the' evening she complained of being unwell. On Saturday morning she was missed, and' ' on Sunday her hat, gloves, and paraftol were found on the banks of the Goulburn River. There was a letter on the I bank in which she requested that her parents might he informed of her fate. The police recovered the body. At the inquest held on Tuesday a verdict of " found drowned " was returned. There was no evidence to show how deceased got into the water. Six witnesses were examined. The letter found with her clothes on the bank of the river was not made public at the inquiry. Mr Elworthy, the lady's fathet, was present at the inquiry.
