THE CENTENNIAL REJOICINGS. Sydney, December 30.

The Centennial Commission has, 'arranged' a programme of events from January 23 to 31, to include laying the foundation stone of the New Parliament House buildings, the dedication of the Centennial Park, a public dinnor to the poor, a banquet in the Exhibition Building, unveiling the Queen's statue, and a procession of trades. At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Church of England Centennial Fund donations amounting to over £13,000 wero announced. Twelve new members are nominated to the Legislative Council. The selection has not given unmixed satisfaction. Dr. Reuldiele, W. J. Trickett, John Davis, and Sir Wm. Manning are amongst those appointed.
