AUSTRALIAN.
The evening sitting of the Legislative Assembly yesterday was one of great; confusion and disorder, culminating in a scene the like of which has never been equalled in Parliament. When, the cloture was applied, on the question being pub, member after member rose and protested against the action of the Speaker, and each was successively named, and removed below tha gangway by the Sergeant-at-Arms. Fourteen members, all of the Opposition, were thus dwelt with, among : them being Messrs Dibbs,Lyne, Garrat, | Melville, O'Sullivan, Crier, Walker, ' Hassall, and Watt. It was not until Mr,l)ibbs's motion censuring the financial. proposals of the Government had been rejected that the members "named" returned to the Chamber. Greatill-feeling was manifested throughout the proceedings, which, to-day, have been the subject of much comment The House did not rise until after ten thif? morning. - i.
