London,' December 7. The death is announced of Mrs Cameron Lees, wife of the Rev. Dr. J. Came! on Lees. The reports that a Fenian plot had been formed in Dublin. to murder the Marquis of Hartington are believed to be unfounded. A rioter injured at Trafalgar Squaie has died in the Hospital. It is asserted that O'Donnell has been threatened and entreated to withdraw his action for libel against the "Times," the Leaguers dreading disclosures. Washington, December 5. Congress was opened to-day. The President's, message w,as confined to ; the- tariff and financial question. ' The message urges Congress to take immediate steps to reduce the present surplus-, and suggests as the most favourable method of doing so the reduction or abolition of duties upon wool, and the impost upon raw material used in American manufacturing industries. Paris, December 6. Three hundred convicts embarked at La Kochelle, their destination being New Caledonia.
