An Awkward Mistake.

A London correspondent tells a good story concerning the affable Liberal whip, Mr Marjoribanks. A few nights ago an hon. member brought into the lobby a lady new to Parliament and its men, asking Mr Mai'joribanks to use bis authority to find his fair charge a seat in the ' Ladies' Gallery. The whip accepted the responsibility, conveyed the gentle visitor upstairs, and found her a capital corner. The lady, not knowing Mr Marjoribanks, mistook him for an attendant, and gave the hon. gentleman half-a-crown. Mr Marjoiibanks accepted the money, and the joke was greatly enjoyed in the lobby afterwards.
