A hearty reception was accorded by the officers and members of the Salvation Army to "Major" Barrett, on his arrival from New Zealand to establish his head-quarters iv Sidney. After a torchlight procession, which attracted a large following, in spite of the wet weather, a large meeting assembled in the barracks in Goulburn-street. " Colonel " Pollard having* opened the meeting, Mrs Barrett addressed the meeting at eonsidei'able length, and her husband, followed uith an address which was attentively listened to by a large and orderly audience.
