CONCERT AND DANCE AT WAIORONGOMAI.
A concert and fiance wps held in tho Waiorongomai Public H.ill on Wednesday evening- last, in aid of the funds of the Church o[ England. The Hal I was veiy tastefully decorated for the occasion by Mr Lovell, and the attendance was large. The concert was got up principally through the exertions of Mr W. F. limit (lay reader foi the chinch), who presided at the concert. The following programme was gone through. — Overture, piano "Selected," Mis Hunt ; glee, " See our Oars with Featheicd Spray," Company; song, " Midshipinite, Mr Hunt; duet, "The Minute Gun at Spa," Messis Ellery and Taylor ; song, " Blusv the Caudle Out," (comic) Mr 0. Goidon ; leading, "Cataiact of Lodore,' Company; recitation, " Materna' Piety," Mis Taylor; duet, " Flow on Thou Shining Kivo," Miss Kscott and Mrs Ferguson; duel, piano, "11 Conkolo," Mesdiimes liunt.wid Lo\ 0 'll; *'>ng (cumic), "The L'dies," Mr J. P. V.m^ ; son», "When Pap i comes home to-night," Mi J. Klleiy; glee, "Coming Tiuo' the Rye," Company; song and cboms, " God Defend New Zealand," Company. Interval of ten minute-. Paittwo: — "Fair Shines tho Moon Tonight," C mip.my ; sotiir, " Kono Day I'll Wander Ba<-k Again," Mr Taylor; duot, " Lai board Watch," Mcssis. Wall. ice ; song, (comic, in charactei) "The lloathen Chinee," MrJ. P. Vause ; song, "The Lost Child," Mr Tluni; glee, "Ye Banks and Braiea of Bonniu boon," Company ; solo, pi.mn, " TinSultaiib Grand M.irch," Mi* Lovell : duot, "i^loravian H}mn," Mr and Mis Iliiht ; bong, (comic, in ch.uactcr) "The Vi^itois" MesTbis. Lovell, (lady) and L'mmett, (gentleman); song, Air C. Goidon ; dance, "Highland Fling," (in costume,) MessrsSmith -md 11 ill ; and chorus, " God Save the Queen," Company. A number of encores uere given, and owing to tiio length of the programme, the concert was not over till about half past ten ; after m liich the hall was quickly cleared for dancing, which was kept up with spirit foi soveial horns. The proceeds, we undei stand fully equalled expectations. Mr W. F. Hunt desires to return his best thanks to Messrs Lovell, Hirst, and others who rendered him feucli valuable assistance in getting up the entertainment, and to all who. took pait.
