Melbourne, November L A deputation of the Farmers' Conference, which waited on the Premier^ yesterday, asked that a duty of 25 per' t cent, be imposed upon all stock imported into the colony; 3s duty upom imported bawrley, wheat, oats, peas, and maize ; £\ pci 1 ton on potatoes ; 4d per lb on butter, cheese, and ham. Melbourne, November 9. The dispute between the squatters and Shearers' Union in Warnnambool district has assumed serious proportions.
