KARANGAHAKE.
This week a 40 ton parcel *of quartz was despatched from the Diamond mine to the Thames whero ifc is to be treated at the Mooiwtaian battory and a big return is expected. IJuslett and Meredith, contractors for the construction of the first section of Bailey s tramway are now putting tho finishing touches to their w^rk which should be complete in every particular next week. In the Woodstock mine the different parties of tributes are all breaking out crushing dirt which will pay handsomely for treatment. . . T r- Moore and party, tributers in tho iiemlworth mine, are classing their gold and silver bearing ore, preparatory to its shipment for sale at the London und Frieburg ore market. A scheme has been propounded for the amalgamation of the whole of the elaiina located on the lino of the Adeline reef, and, in the event of that succeeding, tho new company will be able to secure ßailey's null, which I hear has been offered on very good terms.
