KARANGAHAKE.
Moore urid party tributera in the Kenilworth mine cleaned up on Wednesday last at Railey's mill fora return of 95ozr. retorted bullion which, on heing melted was reduced to 92 ounces. This was the product of treating 9 tons of second class quartz and the aasuy value of the bullion was slightly over 8s per ounce making the all round return 82 shillings per ton which is scarcely payable. Four teams of horses are now engaged in car:iug quartz from thu Diamond mine to the landing Paeroa from whence it will be shipped for treatment at the Moanntuiri battery Thames. Tliis parcel amounts to 40 tons, and there is sufficient gold showng in the stone to w mint the belief that he return will bo a good one.
