Labour Matter in Sydney.
The Sydney Morning "Herald '*" says: There is nothing of very great interest to record in connection with the labour market. For some time past the metropolis has been comparatively undisturbed by anything like a demonstration by the unemployed themselves or by any persons on their behalf. The results of the appointment of Government Labour Board appear to be of a most beneficiol character, inasmuch as good country engagements have been procured for a large number of men, who appear to be contented with the work obtained for them. The building trades and iron trades, although not over brisk, still furnish employment for a large number of skilled artisans. There is also ho dearth of employment for domestic servants, but in this direction, as usual, the demand exceeds the supply, and very often much difficulty is experienced in obtaining the services of domestic servants.
