Par lieu Lars were given as to his appearance and also as to his supposed whereabouts,, and,, acting on a provisional warrant issued at the instance ot Inspector Camph'jn, a man named Charles Max Schraederha* been arrested in a house at Lincoln-street,. North Shore, Sydney. He admitted that lit* was the man described in the- warrant ; that ho had been with his wife? and three children but a short time in. the oolbny ; and had lodged, as was stated, at. Pebty* Hotel. At the same time he asserted that there was some mistake ; that he knew nothing about the alleged forgery ; and that he could not at all understand why he had been arrested. The accused, a- gentlemanly, intelligentlooking man, with a pleasing presence and a cultured voice-, was brought) up at the Central Police Court, Sydney, and remanded ! for> a. week, bail being refused for the presenb unfcil further information is obtained.
