LITEST FROM AUCKLAND. Auckland, Last Night. At tho inquest held to-day on the body of the child found at the rear of the , Thistle Hotel, evidence was given that the girl Mury O'Connor, servant at Thistle Hotel, had acknowledged to being its mother, but declared that the child was born dead. The jary, after a few minutes consultation, returned tha following verdict : That tho newly born female child, whose death wag concealed, had died either from hemorrhage through the navel string being left untied, or from suffocation at the time of its birth, and was found dead and exposed ; but whether tho neglect was caused through ignorance or incapacity of the mother, or from malice witli wilful felonious intent, there was no evidence to show.
