OPENING OF PARLIAMENT. Wellington, October 6.
The tenth Parliament of New Zetland was opened by Commission at 2 o'clock this afternoon. TheCommissionerswere the Hon. Sir Wm. Fitzherbcrt (Speaker of the Legisla tsive Council), the Hon. P. A. Buckley (Colonial Secretary), the Hon. W. H. Reynolds' and Hon. G. M. Waterhouse. After the formal proceedings in the Legislatives Council, when the Commissioners were notified that on Tuesday His Excellency the Governor would in person declare his reasons for calling Parliament together, the members of the House of Representatives returned to their chamber, and there, in accordance with the request of His Excellency, conveyed through the Royal Commissioners, proceeded to die election of the Speaker. Tuesday, 2.30 p.m., has been appointed as the time for hearing the Governor's speech.
The Spoaltership. Sir G» M. O'Rorke will be nominated fotho .Speaker's Chair by Mr Lance, seconded by Mr Pearson. There will be no opposition
Chairman of Committees. Mr Seymour having refused nomination as Chairman of the Committee, Mr Hamlin will certainly be re-elected.
